PR5 - Following the Trails of Pedro and Inês

PR5 - Following the Trails of Pedro and Inês

The route starts in the village of Moledo, next to the old royal palace and continues along the São Domingos stream, up to the Rio da Cruz, then takes the path to the village of São Bartolomeu dos Galegos. On the way, there is a copy of a cylindrical cross (the only one in the county), before arriving at Quinta da Fonte Real, where there is an ash tree from the 14th century. We head towards the village of Paço - which toponymy is related to the story of Pedro and Inês -, going up the slope of Cesaredas through Vale Paraíso, towards Pena Seca, passing close to the viewpoint. We climb the slope to the Martinquel area, where we can opt for a shorter route. Following the original route, we will be able to see fields of lapias and an old lime kiln, continuing the way back to Moledo.
